Sand Replacement Test Set

The Sand Replacement Test Set is used to simply determine the degree of compaction in the field. The test set consists of a sand density cylinder, a calibration container, and a metal tray.

The sand density cylinder and calibration containers are made of cast aluminum and have electrostatic powder coating. The bottom tray is made of galvanized sheet steel.

We offer three different models, depending on soil grain size.

Test Application

A hole is drilled in the area to be tested.

A soil sample is removed, dried(in an oven), and weighed with an Electronic Balance.

The hole is filled with dry sand using a sand cone apparatus.

The volume of the hole is calculated by measuring the amount of sand used.
