J Ring Apparatus

J-ring apparatus for self compacting concrete with 16 bars having 18mm. dia. (narrow gap apparatus)

 

J-Ring Test is used to measure the flow adequacy, spreading value and T500J flow time of self-compacting concrete.

The slump cone, made from sheet steel protected against corrosion, has a top dia. of 100 mm, base dia. of 200 mm, and 300 mm height.

The steel plate, 900×900 mm, has engraved circles of 210 and 500 mm dia.

The test is not suitable when the maximum size of the aggregate exceeds 40 mm. The test is performed with the slump cone and steel plate.
